Mysore Palace

Just 70 kms from the Park and is located in Mysore. Mysore Palace is a historical palace and a royal residence at Mysore in the Indian State of Karnataka. It is the official residence of the Wadiyar dynasty and the seat of the Kingdom of Mysore. Yaduraya built the first palace inside the Old Fort in the 14th century, which was demolished and constructed multiple times. The current structure was constructed between 1897 and 1912 after the Old Palace was burnt ablaze Mysore Palace is now one of the most famous tourist attractions in India, after the Taj Mahal, with more than 6 million annual visitors. Approx duration of tour within the palace is 4 hours including travel. Includes all of the tickets, travel, parking and a guide.

Chennakesava Temple, Somnathpura

The Chennakesava Temple also referred to as Chennakeshava Temple, Keshava Temple or Kesava Temple, is a Vaishnava Hindu temple on the banks of River Kaveri at Somanathapura, Karnataka, India. The temple was consecrated in 1258 CE by Somanatha Dandanayaka, a general of the Hoysala King Narasimha III. It is located 38 kilometers (24 mi) east of Mysuru city. The ornate temple is a model illustration of the Hoysala architecture. Approx duration is 4 hours including travel. Approx cost INR 7000 for max 4 people (USD 100). Chamundi Hills & The Temple

Chamundi Hills is located 13 km east of Mysore, the Palace City, in Karnataka, India. Its average elevation is 1,000 metres (3,300 ft).Patronized for centuries by Mysore rulers, Chamundeshwari Temple is located atop the Chamundi Hills. It was renovated during the time of Krishnaraja Wodeyar III (1827). Named after goddess Chamundi, the Chamundeshwari Temple sits atop the main hill. The main hill itself features an ancient stone stairway of 1,008 steps leading to its summit. Approximately halfway to the summit is the statue of bull Nandi, the "Vahana", or "vehicle" of Lord Shiva, which is 4.9m tall and 7.6m long and carved out of a single piece of black granite. Around this point, the steps become significantly less steep and eventually the climber is rewarded with a panoramic view of the city. Rangantittu Bird Sanctuary

Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary is a bird sanctuary in the Mandya District of the state of Karnataka in India. It is the largest bird sanctuary in the state, only 40 acres (16 ha) in area, and comprises six islets on the banks of the Kaveri river. Ranganathittu is located three kilometers away from the historic town of Srirangapatna and 16 kilometers (9.9 mi) north of Mysore. The sanctuary attracted about 3 lakh visitors during 2016–17, which shows its notability as important bird sanctuary of India. Roughly 170 bird species have been recorded here. Of these, the painted stork, Asian openbill stork, common spoonbill, woolly-necked stork, black-headed ibis, lesser whistling duck, Indian shag, Stork-billed Kingfisher, egret, cormorant, Oriental Darter, spot-billed pelican, and heron breed here regularly. The great stone plover and river tern also nest here. The park is home to a large flock of Streak-throated swallows. During the months of January and February, more than 30 species of birds are found and the season of the sanctuary is from November to June. About 50 pelicans have made Ranganathittu as their permanent home. Duration approx 3 hours including travel. Includes a boat ride around the islands.

Krishna Raja Sagara (Dam) & Brindavan Gardens

Krishna Raja Sagara, also popularly known as KRS, is a lake and the dam that creates it. They are close to the settlement of Krishnarajasagara in the Indian State of Karnataka. The gravity dam made of surki mortar is below the confluence of river Kaveri with its tributaries Hemavati and Lakshmana Tirtha, in the district of Mandya. There is an ornamental garden, Brindavan Gardens, attached to the dam. The Brindavan Gardens is a show garden that has a botanical park, with fountains, as well as boat rides beneath the dam. Diwan Sir Mirza Ismail of Mysore planned and built the gardens in connection with the construction of the dam. KRS Dam was the first to install automated Crest gates during 1920, which was initiated by Sir. M V. Display items include a musical fountain. Various biological research departments are housed here. There is a guest house, a state-run hotel, Hotel Mayura Kauvery KRS, and a four-star luxury heritage hotel Royal Orchid for tourists. Duration approx 7 to 8 hours including travel.

Kokkarebellur Bird Place

Kokkarebellur, usually shortened by the colloquial usage to Kokrebellur is a village in Maddur taluk of Mandya district of Karnataka, India. The village is named after the painted stork(Ibis leucocephalus) called "kokkare" in the Kannada language. It is situated near Maddur between the cities of Mysore and Bangalore. Apart from painted storks the spot-billed pelicans, are also found here. Both are classified as "near threatened category" in IUCN Red List of 2009. The village is one of the 21 breeding sites existing in India. The Birds arrive after monsoon rains end in September when the birds create their nests, lay eggs from October to November, thereafter fledge around for three months after laying of eggs, till March and tirelessly feed their hatchlings through the summer season. As summer peaks in May, they re-migrate, year after year, except when they sense drought conditions in their colonial habitat. Villagers love this and say --For us, these birds are like a daughter coming home for delivery.... Approx 70 kms from Mysore. The best time is from September to May. Duration is approx. 4 hours, including travel.
